NEWSLETTER MRS. TURNER SEPT. 24-28

STANDARDIZED TESTING- All third grade students will be taking the Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) on Wednesday morning and on Thursday morning of this week. Please make sure that your child has at least two #2 pencils with good erasers. They can NOT use mechanical pencils on the test. Next week, Oct. 1-5, we will be taking the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS). A different subject area will be administered each day. Remember to get to bed early, eat a good breakfast, and most importantly…relax and give your best effort!

SPECIAL SNACKS FOR TESTING- A special snack letter was sent home with every child last Thursday. (apples around the edges) Please mark your date on the calendar and send in the appropriate snack that day. Some students have a * beside their names because they are being asked to send in a snack again. If that is a problem, please let me know. The students really enjoy this and look forward to the special snacks each day. Please keep in mind that we have some students with peanut allergies. (If your child does have special needs, you might want to provide your own snack those days.)

PARENT HELPERS- If you are scheduled to help Wednesday or Thursday of this week, please take the day off We are not allowed to have parents in our rooms before 10:30 during testing. If you are scheduled for the following week on any day, take the day off again In other words, I can’t have parent helpers during testing. If I need any special projects completed, I’ll send out an e-mail. Thanks so much for all that you do for us every week!!!!!!
