NEWSLETTER MRS. TURNER SEPT. 29-OCT.3

TESTING- We are finished with testing! Thanks so much for all of the delicious snacks and fun treats!

SCHEDULE- We are back to our normal schedule this week. (Specials from 10:30-11:15 and lunch from 12:03-12:33)

SPIRIT DAY- Our class won the award for most participation on Spirit Day! Yeah!

REFLECTIONS- We have many talented students in our class. Did you enter one of the Reflections categories? Remember to turn in your Reflections entries by Wednesday, October 1st.

ACCELERATED READER- As of today, you have _____out of 10 points. The nine weeks ends next Friday. Make sure you have a plan for getting 10 points by then. I want everyone to be able to come to the “P” Party at the end of the year!!!

READ FOR THE RECORD- Plan to bring the family to school on Thursday morning, Oct 2 starting at 7:30 and help us break the Guiness Book of World Records! Mr. Ehrhardt will be reading a book to all of us at the same time. Check the P.T.S.A. website for more details.

HARRISON BAND EXCELS! We had a great trip to Ohio. The Harrison Marching Band swept the awards in ALL categories…Best Visual, Best Music, Best Overall…Region Champs! I am a very proud mom

HEISMAN TROPHY NIGHT- Get your picture made with the REAL Heisman trophy. Be at Allatoona High School stadium this Friday between 5:30 and 7:00.

SUBJECT MATTER
SPELLING- Core Words- until, form, food, keep, children Bonus Words- witch, which, there, their, they’re, again, always, because, signed, your, you’re, beautiful, queen, people, recycle / Long e sound / Cloze Review on Friday

WRITING- We are learning how to use a rubric to evaluate our writing. We are currently working on Response to Literature. We will do a Response to Literature “Post” writing this week.

READING- Each day, we will read a different form of traditional literature and answer comprehension questions / One on one help with Inferencing and Reading For Facts

ENGLISH- Review subjects and predicates / Cumulative quiz over the 4 types of sentences and subjects and predicates

MATH- Quiz over addition, subtraction, and rounding / Review subtraction with regrouping / Move on to telling time

SCIENCE- Continue studying rocks and minerals
