NEWSLETTER MRS. TURNER FEB. 2-6

CONFERENCES- Thank you so much for taking the time to meet with me last week. You all have wonderful children who I love working with every day. Please stay in touch by writing notes in the agenda or by sending e-mails.

PICTURE DAY- Spring pictures will be taken tomorrow (Tuesday) at 9:00. A class picture and individual pictures will be taken.

EARLY RELEASE- Students will be dismissed at 12:20 on Wednesday.

ACCELERATED READER- We are beginning the fifth week of the nine week period. As of today, your child has ______out of 10 required AR points. Please encourage your child to read on a nightly basis.

CRCT ONLINE TESTS- Please have your child try the CRCT online tests. They are great practice for the “real thing”.

SUBJECT MATTER
SPELLING- Core Words- room, sea, against, top, turned Bonus Words- government, local, state, national, federal, Congress, General Assembly, city council, judicial branch, legislative branch, & executive branch / Cloze Review on Friday

ENGLISH- DOL quiz today / Check Grammar Review and address any weak areas/ Prefixes and suffixes using Buckle Down Reading

READING- Work on Mystery Book Report at school / Thurgood Marshall guided reading book /Read Who Let the Cat Out?- Idioms / Read Quick as a Cricket-Similies / Time for Kids

WRITING- Finish persuasive writing on iquanas / Cursive letters

MATH- Continue studying multiplication and division facts on a nightly basis / Introduce decimals /Problem solving / Review Input and Output / Test on Friday over fractions and decimals

SOCIAL STUDIES-Introduce levels and branches of government
