NEWSLETTER MRS. TURNER MARCH 9-13

IN SCHOOL FIELD TRIP- We will be having another environmental inschool field trip tomorrow.

ART LESSON- Mrs. Dennehy will be doing an art lesson with the students on Tuesday.

ACCELERATED READER- The nine weeks ends this Friday. As of today, you have _____out of 10 points.

REPORT CARDS- Report cards will be sent home next Thursday.

BUCKLE DOWN- The students have been working hard out of the Buckle Down Reading and Math workbooks. We will be having the Buckle Down Post Tests in a few weeks. We want the students to take these tests seriously. Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, March 25th (Reading Post Test) and Friday, March 27th (Math Post Test).

SPELLING-Core Words- face, cut, door, done, group Bonus Words-transition words, sequence words, persuasive writing, narrative writing, synonym, antonym, homophone, perimeter, area, probability / Students will have choices for spelling homework this week / Cloze Review on Friday

READING-Buckle Down lessons / Time For Kids

ENGLISH/ WRITING- We will be doing LOTS of activities this week with persuasive writing/ Persuasive Post Test will be given on Friday / Write “Mort” stories / Pretest for Narrative Writing / Verbs- linking verbs, main verbs and helping verbs / End of unit test on verbs and correct usage

MATH- Buckle Down lessons / Correct post test- The second attempt at the post test was MUCH better / Review gathering data, geometry, and division

SOCIAL STUDIES- Continue reading out of Chapter 8 / Review levels and branches of government / Ch. 8 Test on Friday
