NEWSLETTER MRS. TURNER APRIL 20-24

CRCT- It’s time! The CRCT starts tomorrow! Please get to bed early every night this week. Bring some #2 pencils with good erasers…no mechanical pencils. Snacks will be provided every day during testing. Please check the schedule to see when you are supposed to bring a snack for the class. (21 of each item…19 students and 2 teachers)
Homework will be minimal due to testing. Please continue to read and earn AR points this week.

CRCT SCHEDULE- Tuesday-Reading, Wednesday- English, Thursday-Math, Friday-Science, and next Monday- Social Studies. We will be testing each morning for ~2 hours. No parents are allowed in the classrooms during this time.

CRCT EXTRA MATH PRACTICE- Today- Measurement, Tuesday- Fractions and Decimals, Wednesday- Problem Solving again. Please send a note if you want your child to stay. Send an extra snack. Please pick your child up at 3:30.

MRS. PEPPER’S BIRTHDAY- Mrs. Pepper turns 60 on Thursday, April 30th. Please feel free to make a special card for her.

EVENING IN THE GARDEN- Bright yellow forms were sent home asking who would like to participate in the musical for Evening in the Garden on Monday, May 4th. Please return those forms ASAP. Forms were also sent home for artwork that can be purchased at Evening in the Garden.

MOTHER’S DAY CELEBRATION- Calling all moms! Please plan to attend our Mother’s Day Celebration on Friday, May 8th from 8:00-9:00 in our classroom.

“P” PARTY- All students who have met their AR goals for all 4 nine weeks are invited to the “P” Party at Mrs. Turner’s house on Monday, May 18th. As of today, you have ______out of 10 AR points. We have 4 more weeks to earn points. This is a great week to earn lots of points since we don’t have much homework.

LAST DAY OF SCHOOL- Friday, May 22nd.

SUBJECT MATTER
SPELLING- Core Words-tree, course, front, American, space Extra Words- which, usually, around, table, great, family, might, because, want, people, very / We will still have a Cloze Review on Friday, but no written spelling homework this week.

READING- Practice CRCT packet / Read AR books / Read Social Studies guide books on various people

ENGLISH- Review items covered so far this year by playing football/ Share Mort stories

MATH- Review topics covered so far for CRCT/ Continue practicing long division and the distributive property for multiplication

SOCIAL STUDIES AND SCIENCE- Review for CRCT
