BOOSTERTHON FUN RUN- Please collect money for pledges and turn them in ASAP. Thanks for your support of our Science Lab!
BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION- Our class won! The students received a homework pass. It can be used for ONE homework assignment whenever they wish. It can not take the place of reading on the reading log or signed papers.
MULTIPLICATION FISH TEST- We are continuing to take a test every day. Today was a REAL DEAL TEST. Remember, students may NOT make up a REAL DEAL day for any reason. Please continue helping your child study at home for these very important tests!
STAMPEDE TO READ- Instructions were sent home last week for Stampede to Read. Basically, students need to read for 40 minutes, five nights a week during the month of November.
THANKSGIVING FEAST AND TURKEY TALE CELEBRATION-Our lunch time will be 12:05-12:50. Our Turkey Tale Celebration will follow lunch…~1:00-1:45. We would love to have all parents join us for lunch and our celebration!
THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY- No school Nov. 23-27.
ACCELERATED READER- All of the students have gotten off to a great start this nine weeks! With Stampede to Read going on, all of the students should be able to get in lots of minutes and lots of AR books.

SUBJECT MATTER
SPELLING- EQ-How can we distinguish between –dge and –ge endings? Practice sorting words by their endings. Assessment on Friday
ENGLISH- EQ- How can we identify common and proper nouns? Complete GUMS pages on common and proper nouns. EQ-How can we use guide words to help us find words quickly in the dictionary? We will be discussing guide words and other dictionary uses. We will also discuss how to look up words in the thesaurus.
READING / SOCIAL STUDIES- EQ- How can we read a passage and pick out the most important information? How can I summarize what I’ve read? We will be reading and discussing Frederick Douglass. We will also continue working on the packet of “The Messiest Room in Town”. An assessment over the life of Frederick Douglass will be given on Friday. Students should use their notes to study for the test. The notes may NOT be used on the test.
SCIENCE-EQ-What are the 3 kinds of rocks? How do rocks form?
MATH-EQ- Why is important to learn DIVISION facts? We will be discussing repeated subtraction, inverse operations, dividend, divisor, and quotient.
