Hi Everyone,
Remember, Biogrpahy Blab is tomorrow(Tuesday). Students should come to school dressed as the person they read about. Note cards can be used to practice with at home, but they may NOT be used on the talk show set. Biography books need to be turned in to the media center tomorrow.
Geometry Quilt- The quilts are due on Wednesday. Each shape should be labeled with the correct geometric shape. Neatness is important.
Accelerated Reader- Friday will be the last day to take an AR test for this nine week period. All students need 10 points to meet the goal for the second nine weeks.

IMPORTANT DATES
BIOGRAPHY BLAB will be on Tuesday, December 15th. This is a change from the original paper. Students should dress as the person or as a relative of that person. They should practice answering the questions that were given to them. Notecards can be used for practice, but not during the interview.
GEOMETRY QUILT- The quilt is due on Wednesday, Dec. 16th. It should be neat and colorful. Each square should be labeled with the geometric term. The terms do NOT have to be in any certain order.
HOLIDAY PARTY- Because of Kevin's surgery, we are rescheduling the Holiday Party to Wednesday, Dec. 16th from 9:00-10:00. Thanks for your understanding!
ABSENT- Unfortunately, I will be absent on Friday, Dec. 18th due to Kevin's surgery. Mrs. Toner will be filling in for me.
ACCELERATED READER- The last day to earn points for the second nine weeks is Friday, December 18th.

JINGLE JAM- Join us this Saturday from 9:00-1:00 for the Jingle Jam. More info. can be found on the PTSA website. Third grade students may shop Wednesday morning at the Holiday Shoppe.
BIOGRAPHY BLAB- Students will be bringing home a sheet today that explains how we are going to be doing the Biography “book report”. I will be discussing everything with the students in class today so they should have a good idea of how it will work next Wed., Dec. 16th.
ACCELERATED READER-Students need 10 AR points by Friday, Dec. 18th. Please encourage your child to meet this very important goal. The more they read and the more practice tests they take, the more comfortable they will be when it is time for the CRCT.
Look for the number of points your child currently has in his/her agenda.
THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER- I would like to read this book to the students. It is my all time favorite! It has references to the Christmas story. If anyone has any objections to this being read to your child, please let me know.
FISH TEST WINNERS- Congratulations to the following students who have passed all of the way through the TENS tables: Kenzie Bonham, Asheigh Ketch, Michael Kriebel, Chandler Ruddell, Grace Tam, Davis Tyler, Julianne White, and Sarah Yokley!!!! They will be treated to a free dinner with Mrs. Turner.
FISH TESTS CONTINUE- Keep studying those facts. We will continue taking fish tests on a daily basis until the Christmas Holidays. Remember, students should NOT be counting on their fingers. They should be memorizing their facts. It takes LOTS of practice at home. Please help and encourage your child with this very important task each night.
BENCHMARK TESTS- Students will be required to take the County Language Arts Benchmark Test on Wednesday. They will be taking the County Math Benchmark Test on Friday. We have been doing practice tests at school to prepare for the county tests.

SPELLING- EQ- What happens to the base word (root word) when endings are added to the word? An assessment will be given on Friday
ENGLISH- EQ- Have you mastered the required Language Arts skills for the first and second nine weeks? Students will be taking the Benchmark Test on Wednesday.
READING- EQ- How can you take notes from nonfiction text? Students will be learning how to skim their books to gather information for note cards. The note cards will be used to prepare for Biography Blab. We will be working on note taking all week. We will also be reading Time for Kids. We will try to finish 9 x 7 = Trouble and begin The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.
MATH-EQ- How can you identify and explain the properties of triangles and quadrilaterals? The math benchmark test will be given on Friday. We will continue to take fish tests every day. We will be discussing triangles and quadrilaterals this week.
SOCIAL STUDIES- EQ- Why should Paul Revere be remembered in history? We will be reading and discussing the book of Paul Revere’s life.
