SNOW DAY/PRESIDENT’S DAY- Kevin and I had a great time building snowmen and walking through the neighborhood in the snow. I hope you had lots of fun too!!!
VALENTINE’S DAY- Thank you so much for the beautiful pink roses and the adorable umbrella. You all spoil me!!!
ICE CREAM PARTY/ FISH TESTS- All of the students have worked very hard to pass all of the multiplication facts through the twelves tables. In celebration of their hard work, we will have an ice cream party on Friday. An item was earned each time the students passed at test. Many thanks to all of the parents who have said they will send in items for our celebration! Continue to review the multiplication facts even though we won’t be taking fish tests on a daily basis any more. At random times, I will announce a fish test, so students always need to be ready
100 PROBLEM, 7 MINUTE TIMED TEST- We will take a timed test every Wednesday. Please prepare for the test you plan to take.
TELLUS MUSEUM- Everyone has turned in permission slips for the field trip on March 2nd. Mrs. Yokley and Mrs. White will be our chaperones.
GEORGIA ANIMAL PICTURE- Each student needs to bring a picture of his/her Georgia animal to school. If you don’t have a printer, you can draw and color a picture of your animal. We will use the picture with our informative paper. Pictures are due on Wednesday.
CURRICULUM NIGHT- Mark your calendars for Thursday, February 25th. It’s a neat night filled with hands-on activities. If you read this, draw a hand in the signature section of the agenda.
SIX FLAGS READING FORMS- All completed forms are due on or before Friday, February 26th.
ACCELERATED READER- We are half way through the nine week period. Do you have at least half of your ten points? Do you have a plan for meeting your goal?

SPELLING-EQ- How do root words change when suffixes are added? An assessment will be given on Friday
ENGLISH-EQ- What are singular and plural possessive nouns and how are they used in sentences?/ quiz over nouns, verbs, and tenses
WRITING-EQ- How do you write an effective informative paper? / Continue to work on the graphic organizer and the final paper in class. Find a picture of your animal at home / Cursive handwriting
READING-EQ- How do you use a dictionary, glossary, and a thesaurus to make reading more meaningful? Use Buckle Down to discuss strategies for becoming better readers / Time for Kids
MATH-EQ- How can you find the perimeter and area of a figure? Review the basic principals and apply the knowledge to problem solving situations / EQ- How do you locate decimals on a number line? Review fraction and decimal concepts / Prepare for 7 minute timed test on Wednesday
SOCIAL STUDIES- EQ- How did Mary Bethune affect American history? Continue to read, discuss, and take notes on the life of Mary Bethune
