NEWSLETTER MRS. TURNER MARCH 8-12

ODYSSEY OF THE MIND- Good luck to Elena Gray as she competes in Odyssey of the Mind this weekend at Harrison High School.

SAD NEWS- My mother-in-law, Julia Davis, passed away Thursday night. We will be traveling to South Carolina for visitation and the funeral. Donna Toner will be my sub on Monday.

EARLY RELEASE DAY- Students will be dismissed at 12:10 on Wednesday, March 10th. Lunch will be from 10:18-10:48 that day. We will see a performing arts program instead of going to specials.

ACCELERATED READER- The last day to earn AR points for the third nine weeks is Thursday, March 11th.

POP AND READ-We will kick off the new nine weeks with a Pop and Read on Friday, March 12. Students may bring blankets, sleeping bags, drinks, and snacks. Of course they will need to bring lots of good books to read, too!

CRCT PRACTICE TESTS- Have you been trying any of the CRCT practice tests on the computer? They are a great way to get used to the format and the types of questions that will be asked. If you read this, write CRCT in the signature portion of the agenda.

SUBJECT MATTER
SPELLING- Introduce more compound words in Sort #26 / An assessment will be given on Friday

ENGLISH- We will be discussing adjectives that tell how many and what kind. We will also discuss adjectives that compare.

READING- We will use Buckle Down to discuss and review reading topics./ Time For Kids + comprehension questions / Pop and Read / Last week to earn AR points for the third nine weeks

MATH- Measurement and money will be our focus this week / We will take the Cobb County Benchmark Test on Tuesday./ 7 minute timed test will be given on Wednesday / Real Deal Fish Test over the 8’s will be given on Friday

SOCIAL STUDIES- We will take notes on Franklin Roosevelt and start reading about Eleanor Roosevelt.
