NEWSLETTER MRS. TURNER MARCH 1-5

TELLUS MUSEUM- First, I would like to thank all of the very generous people who stepped up when we needed more funds for the field trip. All third grade students are able to go now. YOU ALL ARE WONDERFUL!!!!!! Students should bring a sack lunch (please don’t bring lunch boxes that we need to keep up with), drink, and money for the gift shop if you wish (completely optional). Some students said they wanted a school sack lunch. They can still bring a drink. Our chaperones will be Mrs. Yokley and Mrs. White.

BOOK FAIR- Please visit the Book Fair this week If you read this, please draw a book in the signature section of the agenda.

CURRICULUM NIGHT- Many thanks to all of the parents and students who made Curriculum Night a success!

SCIENCE LAB- We will be going to the Science Lab on Friday.

EARLY RELEASE DAY- Students will be dismissed at 12:20 on Wednesday, March 10th.

ACCELERATED READER- The nine weeks ends on Thursday, March 11th. All students need 10 points by then.

POP AND READ- We will kick off the new nine weeks with a Pop and Read on Friday, March 12th. Students can get a great start and enjoy the new books they purchased at the Book Fair.

SUBJECT MATTER
SPELLING-EQ-How can two words be combined to form a compound word? An assessment will be given on Friday.

ENGLISH-EQ-How can adjectives make your sentences more descriptive? When do you use the articles “a”, “an”, and “the”? We will be doing various activities from our GUMS books. Sentences with adjectives will also be written on the spelling assessment.

READING-EQ-How did Franklin D. Roosevelt affect American history? / Read and discuss Time For Kids / Buckle Down practice / Read AR books / Fluency tests / EQ-How can you tell who is talking in a passage?

MATH-EQ- How can you measure to the nearest millimeter, centimeter, and meter? / Timed test on Wednesday / Test on Friday over all measurement concepts
