NEWSLETTER MRS. TURNER MARCH 28-APRIL 1
CRCT- Students will start taking the CRCT the Tuesday we return from spring break. Reading will be given on Tuesday, April 12; English on Wednesday, April 13; Math on Thursday, April 14; Science on Friday, April 15; and Social Studies on Monday, April 18.
CRCT SNACK SCHEDULE- Students brought home a CRCT snack schedule last week. It is written on a bright orange piece of paper. Please note your date and item. We have 21 students and 2 teachers. Please prepare your snack so that it can be easily handed out. Thanks so much! The students look forward to the snacks and surprises!
CRCT ONLINE PRACTICE- We have practiced taking the online CRCT tests in the computer lab. Please have your child try some at home also. They all have a special number. The password is education.
#2 PENCILS- All students will need a couple of number two pencils…not mechanical for the CRCT test.
SPRING BREAK- Students will not have school April 4-8.
LETTERS FOR LINKS- Our class has done a GREAT job writing letters to friends and family! We won a whipped cream party for all of the letters we’ve written so far. Please encourage your child to write to a friend or relative. Send in a stamped envelope, and we will mail it from school.
SUBJECT MATTER
SPELLING- We are working on dividing words into syllables. An assessment will be given on Thursday.
ENGLISH- We just finished writing persuasive letters. Did they work???? Write in the agenda what your child tried to persuade you to buy or do./Review various topics covered so far this year /Guide words
READING- Buckle Down activities/ read AR books/ Discuss poetry/ Author’s purpose
MATH- Buckle Down activities/ Multiplying 2 digit by 1 digit numbers / Long division introduction/ 7 minute timed test on Wednesday
SCIENCE- Animals found in Georgia / recycle, reduce, reuse / Nature journal acitivities
SOCIAL STUDIES- Cesar Chavez/ Thurgood Marshall/ Lyndon B. Johnson/ branches of government
