CRCT- Testing is over! The students did a great job. Results should arrive mid May. Many thanks to all of the families who sent in snacks, drinks, and surprises!
MUFFINS FOR MOMS- Calling all moms! We will be celebrating Mother’s Day on Thursday, May 5th from 9:15-10:15 in our classroom. Please try to come. If a child’s mom can’t make it, grandmothers are welcome! An invitation will be coming home today. As soon as you know if you can come, please write a note in your child’s agenda. We want to have enough food for everyone!
EVENING IN THE GARDEN- A bright yellow permission form was sent home Friday for Evening in the Garden. If your child would like to play a musical instrument and/or participate in the program, please return the form ASAP. Please write your child’s name on the form. A new order form will be coming home today for dinners from Great Harvest Bread Co. Mrs. Beale needs some parents to help her paint props for Evening in the Garden. If you can help, please write me a note in your child’s agenda, and I will let Mrs. Beale know. Evening in the Garden will be on Monday, May 2nd.
SPRING FLING- I was busy making cotton candy! Many thanks to Mrs. Kriebel and all of the families who contributed to the class basket. Oscar and Elizabeth Kriebel won the kickball raffle. They will be two of eight students who will be competing against the third grade teachers in a kickball game on Wednesday afternoon!
VOLUNTEER TEA- We have been very lucky to have so many parent helpers this year. Please mark your calendars for Wednesday, April 27th from 9:00-10:00. Join us for food and fellowship.
FIELD DAY- A form was sent home on Friday asking for volunteers for Field Day. Our Field Day will be on Thursday, May 12th. Please return the form if you can help!
ACCELERATED READER- Students wrote the number of points they currently have and their percentage correct in their agendas today. Please note that all students need 10 AR points with 80% comprehension by Friday, May 20th. The “P’ Party will be held at Mrs. Turner’s house on Monday, May 23rd. All students who have met their goal and percentage EVERY nine weeks will receive and invitation to the big celebration.
EARTH DAY- We will be celebrating Earth Day with activities on Thursday and Friday. If you would like to wear blue(water) or green(land) on those days, please do so.

SPELLING- We will be working on dividing words into syllables/ Assessment on Thursday
ENGLISH-Homophones, contractions, possessives, plurals, and suffixes will be our topics this week./ Writing-How can we help save our Earth? /Poetry about spring and flowers/Cursive handwriting
READING- We will be reading the poem, “All Eyes on the Pond”/ Comprehension test on Wednesday/ Earth Day activities
MATH-Long division and multiplication will be our focus this week. An assessment over long division will be given on Wednesday and Thursday/ Fish Tests have started again. Please help your child review these very important facts!!!!/ Various practice book pages will be assigned each night.

SOCIAL STUDIES- Famous Americans on Parade/ If you really made it to the end of this long newsletter, please write the name of your favorite person we studied this year in the agenda
