PARENT SURVEY- Some of the students will be bringing home a parent survey today. Please complete it and return it by February 10th. Thanks for taking the time to complete the survey.
BIOGRAPHY BLAB- We will be taking notes from our biography books this week. Students will be interviewed on Friday. Students should come to school dressed as the person or bring clothes to change into on Friday. Please write the name of the person you are dressing up as in the agenda.
CURRICULUM NIGHT- Please plan to join us on Thursday, January 26 for Curriculum Night. Prepaid Chic-Fil-A dinners will be available for purchase. Pink order forms are being brought home today by the youngest and only in families. Great activities at all grade levels will be offered.
JUMP ROPE FOR HEART- Lots of information was sent home two weeks ago for Jump Rope for Heart. Please plan to return any money collected on Friday, February 3rd. Students are also allowed to bring board games and cards to play while they aren’t jumping.
FISH TESTS- I am very proud of the students who have mastered their multiplication facts. I can truly tell the ones who have “learned them for life” and the ones who only learned them for a test. It is imperative that students know ALL of their facts extremely well. Math will be very difficult if the facts aren’t mastered. Please review the facts with your child on a daily basis.
ACCELERATED READER- All students need a minimum of 10 AR points with at least 80% comprehension this nine weeks.
SUBJECT MATTER
SPELLING- We will be discussing irregular verbs this week. The best way to practice is to say: Today I ____.(present) Yesterday I ____. (past) I have _____before.(past with has or have)/ An assessment will be given on Friday.
ENGLISH- More irregular verbs
READING- We will be discussing how to take notes in “bullet form” on note cards. We will be working on the notecards in class on Monday and Tuesday. Cards can be brought home to finish and to study on Tuesday./ Biography Blab will be on Friday/ Time for Kids/ Read AR books
MATH- We will begin our discussion of fractions and decimals this week./ 7 minute timed test on Wednesday/ Fish Tests every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday-BE PREPARED!!!
SCIENCE- The regions of Georgia will be our topic for the next few weeks.
