READING- Author’s purpose, genres, and poetry will be our focus this week. We will also read Time for Kids./ Pop and Read on Friday-get started early earning your 10 AR points!
WRITING- We are continuing to learn the cursive letters. Remember…don’t try to write in cursive until we learn the proper formation of each of the letters. It’s hard to break bad habits.
MATH- This week we will be using the Buckle Down books to review math skills. Each day will be a certain concentration: measurement, area & perimeter, problem solving, and long division. Each night we will review multi-digit multiplication in our practice books. What is the answer to a division problem called? Write the answer in the agenda.
SOCIAL STUDIES- Another landform assessment will be given this Friday. Students will be given the same sheet they used to label their landform maps. I will point to various places on a map up front, and they will have to place the correct number beside the correct landform on a piece of paper./ We will also be reading and learning about Cesar Chavez, Thurgood Marshall, and Lyndon B. Johnson.
